Kevin Favreau, who has headed the Las Vegas FBI since December 2009, is retiring in January and plans to stay in Las Vegas.
Favreau joined the FBI in 1983 and before coming here was assistant director of the Directorate of Intelligence in Washington, D.C.
During his career with the bureau, Favreau has focused on counterintelligence, counterespionage and counterterrorism.
While in Las Vegas, he played an instrumental role in forming and developing the FBI Las Vegas Citizens Academy Alumni Association.
And notice, there were no acts of terrorism in Las Vegas on his watch here.
