Something in a movie not necessarily fact

After writing Jan. 16 about the Frankie Bluestein shooting, at least a dozen people told me I was dead wrong. He didn’t pick up a pizza before he was shot and killed. He had a sub sandwich wrapped in silver and the two detectives thought it was a gun.
Well, doubters, you are wrong.
You got your information from the movie “Casino,” which fictionalized those days. My info came from the old newspaper clips and one of the detectives involved. It was a pizza and there was a gun.
Yet readers took as fact what they’d seen in a movie.
This is how fiction becomes accepted as truth.
