Unions, Stratosphere reach tentative contract agreement

The Culinary and Bartenders unions reached a tentative agreement with the Stratosphere for a new five-year contract Saturday, the unions announced.

Details of the agreement were not immediately released.

The previous contract expired in June.

Several other resorts recently reached agreements with the union, including MGM in the fall and Caesar’s, Riviera, Tropicana and Treasure Island this year, according to the Culinary union.

Negotiations continue with other properties, and a strike authorization vote is scheduled on March 20. Labor disputes, including a strike, are possible at companies with expired union contracts.

The union’s list of unsettled houses includes Fremont, Main Street Station, LVH, Four Queens, Binion’s, Plaza, the D, Golden Nugget, El Cortez, Golden Gate, Brady Linen Services and Margaritaville.
