Aaron Rodgers says ‘God was a Packers fan’ Sunday night

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers may have been talking directly to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson when he said "I think God was a Packers fan tonight" after Sunday's 27-17 win.

In January, after the Seahawks rallied to beat the Packers in the NFC Championship Game in overtime, Wilson shared his belief that God had a hand in the team's victory.

Rodgers countered then that he did not think God is a big football fan.

"I don't think God cares a whole lot about the outcome," Rodgers said in January. "He cares about the people involved, but I don't think he's a big football fan."

Eight months later, Rodgers had a different answer.

"And then getting help from God. I think God was a Packers fan tonight, so he was taking care of us," Rodgers said Sunday night when answering a question.

Rodgers completed 25 of 33 passes for 249 yards with two touchdowns. He completed all eight passes on the winning scoring drive in the fourth quarter, with the Packers down 17-16.
