Bases-loaded walk dooms 51s to 7-6 loss at Albuquerque

51s reliever Buddy Carlyle walked home the winning run in the 10th inning to give the Albuquerque Isotopes a 7-6 Pacific Coast League victory Friday night in Albuquerque, N.M.

Wilmer Flores’ home run in the top of the 10th had given Las Vegas a 6-5 lead. But an error by 51s first baseman Brandon Allen led to the tying run in the bottom of the inning before the Isotopes won it.

Las Vegas tied the score 5-5 in the ninth on pinch hitter Daniel Muno’s two-run homer. Flores then hit his second home run of the game to give the 51s the lead in the 10th.

Flores’ three-run homer in the fourth gave Las Vegas a 3-0 lead. But the Isotopes scored two runs in the fourth and three in the seventh to take a 5-3 lead.

The teams will meet in a day-night doubleheader today. The first game is scheduled for 11:05 a.m., with the second at 6:05 p.m.
