Cousins double-double not enough
DeMarcus Cousins has been the most impressive player in the NBA Vegas Sumer League so far this week, but is fourth straight double-double was not enough Friday as the Kings lost 88-82 to Toronto at Cox Pavilion.
Cousins had 16 points and 12 rebounds, but made just 5 of 18 shots and committed 10 fouls and was disqualified from the game with about 2 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
DeMar DeRozan had 22 points, seven rebound and three assists for the Raptors.
Sonny Weems added 19 points in the victory.
Donte Greene led Sacramento with 20 points in the loss.
Paper stuff
The summer league staff is very attentive as far as picking up paper.
The assembled media is going through so many sheets of rosters, stats, box scores and everything you can think of as they cover this event.
The NBA people are passing out paper with no regard whatsoever for any potential environmental problem.
On the flipside, there’s a staff of six people who swarm around and constantly ask if you are done with the paper so that they can take it for recycling.
Relax. Pass out less and recycle it at the end of the day.
I realize it sounds rather innocuous. But you have no idea how out of control this situation is here. It is absolutely insane and bothers me every time they ask.

Two premiere NBA point guards were here to watch the game.
Brandon Jennings was sitting in the front row taking in the action, though his Milwaukee Bucks teammates won’t play until later in the day.
He was rooting on his friend DeMar DeRozan, who grew up in the same area in southern California.
Sacramento point guard Tyreke Evans, the reigning NBA rookie of the year, was sitting on the Kings bench.
Evans had a fan here, too.
A very attractive woman was wearing her own creation, a silver dress covered in portraits of and odes to Evans.
