Here’s what to expect on Day 2 of NBA Summer League in Las Vegas

The second day of the 2016 NBA Summer League will feature eight games in total — four in the Thomas & Mack Center and four in the adjacent Cox Pavilion.

Last year, the 2015 summer league saw a record 99,437 attendees, which was an average of 9,040 per session. Look for similar numbers this time around.

For the first time, ESPN will be televising games from Las Vegas.

GAME(S) OF THE DAY

Philadelphia vs. Los Angeles Lakers — No. 1 vs. No. 2. Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons and Los Angeles’ Brandon Ingram will go head-to-head for the first time in a professional setting. This game could break the single-day attendance record of 12,422, which was set last year when the Timberwolves’ Karl-Anthony Towns and the Lakers’ D’Angelo Russell — the top two picks in the 2015 draft — faced off.

San Antonio vs. Golden State — The Summer League defending champs, with coach Becky Hammon, will meet the Warriors in the night game. Golden State has several players with local ties, including UNLV product Patrick McCaw, Bishop Gorman High alum Rosco Allen (Stanford) and Findlay Prep product Winston Shepard (San Diego State).

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

— Jaylen Brown, the third overall pick in this year’s draft, will make his NBA debut for the Boston Celtics at 3 p.m. in the Cox Pavilion.

— Pierre Jackson, a 2009 graduate of Desert Pines High School, will play in his fourth NBA Summer League (third in Las Vegas) when he suits up for the Portland Trailblazers.

— Dragan Bender, the fourth overall pick in this year’s draft, will make his NBA debut for the Phoenix Suns at 1 p.m. in the Cox Pavilion.

— Former Findlay Prep standout Kelly Oubre, who was a first-round draft pick in 2015, will start his second tour of the NBA Summer League when the Washington Wizards play the Utah Jazz at 3:30 p.m. in the Thomas & Mack Center.

— Chris Obekpa, who redshirted the 2015-16 season for UNLV after transferring from St. Johns, will play for the Miami Heat at 7 p.m. in the the Cox Pavilion.

— The Miami Heat have two of the top sophomore players in this year’s NBA Summer League with Justise Winslow (Duke) and Josh Richardson (Tennessee). Both players made contributions in their first season with Miami, which earned the Eastern Conference’s No. 3 seed in the playoffs.
