Last Day under way
July 19, 2009 - 12:29 pm
It’s the 10th and final day of the 2009 NBA Summer League and the Knicks and Wizards are under way in an three-quarters empty Cox Pavilion. Perhaps everyone’s burnt out from Saturday’s full slate of seven games.
JaVale McGee, the former UNR center who played so well for the Wizards Saturday in their 74-64 win over the Clippers, is off to a fast start against the Knicks with eight of Washington’s first 12 points. Former San Diego State star Kyle Spain isn’t suited up for the Wizards. Former UNLV star Wink Adams is dressed for the Knicks. But does it matter? The kid has played just seven minutes in four games. He deserved a little more time than that.
Warriors’ Anthonys go 1-2
The Warriors are going to have the top two scorers at the Summer League as Anthony Randolph and Anthony Morrow finished 1-2 in the scoring race. Randolph averaged 26.8 points while Morrow, who set the summer league scoring record with 47 points, averaged 24.7. Nick Young of Washington, who is third at 23.8 ppg, didn’t dress for today’s game with the Knicks.
