HIGHLIGHTS

Nuggets 99, Bulls 71 -- Denver remained undefeated at 4-0 as Ty Lawson continued to dominate, finishing with 18 points and four assists. The Nuggets led by as many as 41 in the third quarter.

Cavaliers 88, D-League 82 -- Cleveland placed six players in double figures led by J.J. Hickson's 18 points to pull away late from the D-Leaguers, who were led by Russell Robinson with 20 points.

Raptors 100, Rockets 91 -- Toronto shot 53 percent from the floor and the Raptors' starting backcourt of Bobby Brown and DeMar DeRozan combined for 43 points.

Grizzlies 67, Bucks 64 -- Sam Young's 3-point field goal with 0.2 seconds remaining broke a 64-64 tie to give Memphis the win. Larry Sanders, who led all scorers with 22 points, had tied it for the Bucks at 64 with a 3-pointer with 0.7 seconds to go.

Kings 90, Lakers 84 -- Sacramento's Donte Green had 17 points in 16 minutes off the bench to help keep the Lakers winless at 0-4.

Trail Blazers 81, Hornets 69 -- The Blazers dominated inside, scoring more than half their points (46) in the paint. Paddy Mills led Portland with 18 points.

Warriors 72, Heat 69 -- Brian Chase's 3-point field goal with 7.4 seconds remaining broke a 67-67 tie and put Golden State in front. Reggie Williams led the Warriors with 23 points.

STARS

n Cleveland's Tasmin Mitchell played just 19 minutes but he managed to score 11 points and grab 11 rebounds during that span to help the Cavaliers win their Summer League opener.

n Toronto's DeMar DeRozan was 10 of 15 from the field and led all scorers with 23 points in the Raptors' win over Houston.

J.R. SHOWS UP

Not that they needed additional help, but the Denver Nuggets added forward J.R. Smith to their Summer League roster and got him on the floor Tuesday against Chicago.

Smith happened to be in Las Vegas and felt like suiting up.

"I'm in town rehabbing my (left) ankle and I'd rather play in here than work out in a high school gym," said Smith, who is entering his sixth NBA season and averaged 15.4 points last season in Denver.

He finished Tuesday with nine points and two steals in 16 minutes as the Nuggets routed the Bulls, 99-71. Smith said he'll play limited minutes in today's game against Houston.

PRESEASON PREVIEW

Usually the Lakers and the Kings are running up and down the court at the Thomas & Mack Center in October in a preseason game. But they went through a dress rehearsal Tuesday as the two California rivals squared off in the Summer League. The game drew a decent crowd of about 2,000.

This year's Lakers-Kings NBA preseason game at the Mack is scheduled for Oct. 13. There'll be a few more people that night to see Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and the real Lakers.

LOVE TO HATE

Just because it's summer doesn't mean the rivalry between the Lakers and the Kings is diminished.

Two Kings fans wearing "Lakers Suck" T-shirts presented one of the shirts to Kings co-owner Joe Maloof, who was watching his team against the Lakers from a spruced-up Gucci Row in the Thomas & Mack.

Instead of folding chairs, Gucci Row is now equipped with leather high-back padded seats.

LOOKING AHEAD

The Nuggets, 4-0, will try to finish undefeated as they wrap up their Summer League run today against Houston at 1 p.m. at Cox Pavilion.

Denver second-year guard Lawson has had a big week, leading the team in scoring (18.7) and assists (5.7).

QUOTABLE

"I love John Wall, but I think we got the best player in the draft. I don't know how we got him at No. 5." -- Kings co-owner Joe Maloof on rookie center DeMarcus Cousins, who had 19 points and 12 rebounds in Sacramento's 90-84 win over the Lakers.
