HIGHLIGHTS
Raptors 103, Suns 69 -- Sonny Weems scored 19 points to lead six double-figure scorers for Toronto, which shot 56.1 percent from the floor and limited Phoenix to 32.4 percent.
Nuggets 92, Lakers 74 -- Ty Lawson had 18 points and seven assists to lead Denver (2-0), which never trailed. The Nuggets also won their first game by 18 points.
Pistons 89, Warriors 69 -- Detroit used a 36-20 advantage in the third quarter to pull away.
Rockets 87, Mavericks 78 -- Jermaine Taylor scored 21 points, giving him 46 in two games, to lead Houston. The Rockets pulled away with a 26-16 fourth quarter.
STARS
Phoenix's Gani Lawal scored 18 points on 7-for-11 shooting against Toronto.
Lakers rookies Devin Ebanks and Derrick Caracter continued to impress, combining to score 28 of L.A.'s first 40 points against the Nuggets. Ebanks finished with 24 points and three steals, and Caracter contributed 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Detroit's Austin Daye had 20 points and three blocks in the victory over Golden State, and teammate DaJuan Summers supplied 18 points and seven rebounds.
Dallas guard Rodrigue Beaubois scored 28 points -- a Summer League high for the first two days -- against Houston. Mavs center Omar Samhan scored 14 of his 17 points in the first half.
MAYO TO PLAY TWO GAMES
Memphis Grizzlies guard O.J. Mayo is expected to play in two games, Monday against Atlanta and Tuesday against Milwaukee.
Mayo reportedly will experiment at point guard after averaging 18.0 points and 3.1 assists in his first two seasons.
WATSON MAKES DEBUT
Kashif Watson, a former Bishop Gorman standout and brother of the Warriors' C.J. Watson, saw his first pro action. He played five scoreless minutes in Golden State's loss to Detroit.
Watson didn't seem upset by his lack of playing time, saying: "You can't do anything about it. When you get in, you've got to play your game. It was just good to be out there."
Watson shot 0-for-3 from the floor, had one rebound, one assist and one foul.
BUTCH INJURED
Nuggets center Brian Butch was taken off on a stretcher after suffering a dislocated patella in his left knee when he took a hard fall under the basket during the third quarter against the Lakers.
Trainers from several teams came out to assist Butch, who was taken to St. Rose Dominican Hospital. The Wisconsin product is not expected to play the remainder of the event.
KURZ HURT, SHOULD RETURN
Lakers forward Robert Kurz needed stitches to his forehead after taking a spill along the baseline in the second quarter against the Nuggets.
Kurz, who was helped off the floor, is expected to return Monday against the Knicks.
LOOKING AHEAD
Players who might fill out the Miami Heat's revamped roster will get their first Summer League court time at 7 p.m. today against New Orleans.
Also, former UNR stars Luke Babbitt and Armon Johnson will make their pro debuts with Portland against Houston at 3 p.m.
QUOTABLE
"We take a lot of pride in winning because everybody's competitive. Everybody wants to show they can play and make a team. But at the same time, coaches want to see a winner and how you control yourself under pressure." -- Nuggets forward Othello Hunter, who scored 14 points on 5-for-6 shooting against the Lakers.
