HIGHLIGHTS
Knicks 92, Pistons 80 -- With new power forward Amare Stoudemire watching in the stands, New York put four scorers in double figures. Bill Walker had 19 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals.
Raptors 88, Kings 82 -- Toronto (4-0) nearly blew an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter. DeMar DeRozan led the Raptors with 22 points and seven rebounds. Sacramento rookie center DeMarcus Cousins had 16 points and 12 rebounds, but shot 5-for-18 and had six turnovers before fouling out with 10 fouls.
Wizards 90, Hornets 89 -- Lester Hudson made the winning jumper off an inbounds pass from John Wall as time expired to lift Washington to 4-0.
Cavaliers 81, Bulls 80 -- Pooh Jeter's 3-pointer from the right corner with 6.8 seconds remaining gave Cleveland the lead, and the Cavs held on to go to 3-0. Jeter had 20 points and seven assists.
Timberwolves 66, Grizzlies 65 -- Deon Thompson made a short jumper to give Minnesota a 60-57 lead and had a key blocked shot in the final 1:30. Wayne Ellington had 25 points and nine rebounds to carry Minnesota, and Sam Young led Memphis with 25 points.
Heat 78, Bucks 58 -- Shavlik Randolph compiled 18 points and six rebounds to lead Miami, which held Milwaukee to seven points in the third quarter.
STARS
Detroit center Greg Monroe, the No. 7 draft pick, scored 27 points, shot 8-for-10 and had 14 rebounds against New York.
Washington point guard John Wall, the No. 1 overall draft pick, had 31 points, six rebounds, three steals and two turnovers in a victory over New Orleans. Wizards center JaVale McGee supplied 29 points, eight rebounds and two steals.
Cleveland forward J.J. Hickson scored 21 points against Chicago, lifting his scoring average to 24.3 in three games.
BEST GAME
The best game of the Summer League thus far was the Wizards' 90-89 victory over the Hornets on Friday.
The game featured 14 lead changes, eight double-figure scorers and three go-ahead baskets in the final 15.1 seconds.
JaVale McGee's jumper put the Wizards ahead 88-86, but Craig Brackins answered with a 3-pointer with 2.2 left to put the Hornets in front. Lester Hudson made the winner on the ensuing possession.
Maurice Ager scored 23 points for New Orleans, and teammate Kyle Hines had 15 points and 14 rebounds.
MCGEE CONTINUES TO EMERGE
One of the league's best stories has been the highlight-reel performances of JaVale McGee, a former UNR standout who is expected to compete for Washington's starting center spot.
He is averaging 19.5 points and 9.3 rebounds in four games, all victories.
Against New Orleans on Friday, the 7-footer had one of the best plays of the week when he faked a pass to the wing, drove the lane and threw down a dunk to bring the crowd to its feet.
McGee is hopeful his chemistry with Wall will carry over into the fall. He has played sparingly in his first two seasons with Washington, averaging 6.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 15-plus minutes.
"It's going to carry over," McGee said. "There's just too much chemistry right now."
GIST INJURED
San Antonio forward James Gist will miss one to three weeks with a sprained left wrist he injured in the second quarter of Wednesday's victory over Atlanta, the Spurs said. Gist was averaging 9.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in the Summer League.
LOOKING AHEAD
Today will be the final chance for local fans to catch John Wall, whose Wizards play their finale at 1 p.m. vs. the Knicks at Cox Pavilion.
The Knicks, Raptors and Hornets also will be playing for the final time.
The Heat and Cavaliers will be on the court against each other for the first time since last week's free-agency shake-up, and both are still looking for clues to fill out their rosters.
