Balanced Lobos surprise Wyoming

Amanda Best's 15 points led four New Mexico scorers in double figures Wednesday as the Lobos upset third-seeded Wyoming 67-61 in the second round of the women's Mountain West Conference tournament at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The seventh-seeded Lobos (13-17) also got 14 points from Jasmine Patterson, 13 from Lauren Taylor and 11 from Jessica Kielpinski. They'll face second-seeded Texas Christian in the semifinals Friday.
Aubrey Vandiver had 26 points and nine rebounds to lead Wyoming (22-8), which beat New Mexico by double digits twice during conference play. Hillary Carlson contributed 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Cowgirls.
■ Utah 70, Air Force 55 -- Janita Badon scored 18 points and Michelle Harrison 15, helping the fifth-seeded Utes advance to the semifinals with a victory over the fourth-seeded Falcons (9-22).
The game was tied at 29 at halftime before Utah (16-16) used an 18-2 run in the first 11 minutes of the second half to pull away and earn a game Friday against top-seeded Brigham Young.
Badon and Harrison had eight rebounds each as the Utes outrebounded Air Force 40-26.
