Notes from handicapper Bruce Marshall of GoldSheet.com:

DOLLAR BILL

The wiseguys have bet against Kansas State almost every week this season. Not a smart move. Bill Snyder is a coaching cash machine. Since the beginning of last season, the Wildcats are 18-3 straight up and 15-6 against the spread. Kansas State is a 9-point home favorite over Oklahoma State on Saturday.

BIGGER IN TEXAS

As the popular saying goes, good coaches win and great coaches cover. Houston coach Gary Kubiak does not get a lot of credit, but he's one of the NFL's best at covering the spread. The Texans, 10-point home favorites over Buffalo on Sunday, are 19-7 ATS in their past 26 games.

FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH

Jacksonville is arguably the NFL's worst team at 1-6. The Jaguars have scored a league-low 103 points. But no team has been more reliable this season against the spread, as the road team is 7-0 ATS in Jaguars games. That should be good news for the Detroit Lions, 3½-point favorites at Jacksonville.

OPPOSITES ATTRACT

The New York Giants host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, and bettors have to wonder if the teams will stay true to their trends. The Steelers are 3-11 ATS in their past 14 road games and 1-5 in their past six in the underdog role. The Giants are 11-3 ATS in their past 14 games.
