Race 1 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $21,000, Maiden claiming $40,000, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up

1 Papa Frank - Not much to go by in the Daily Racing Form; if you hear of some clocker information, you go for it.

2 Jack No - Got the one start and that experience can be a big edge; did not have a clean trip in his debut.

Long Shot - 3 Venture Capitalist

Race 2 - 1 mile, Purse $27,000, Starter allowance $25,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

2 Majestic Minister - Rafael Bejarano is picking his spots carefully at Los Alamitos; takes the mount for a small barn, interesting.

4 I’m No Patsy - Set a quick pace in last at Santa Anita and tired very late; sprinter stretching back out around 2-turns.

Long Shot - 1 Mango Reward

Race 3 - 6 furlongs, Purse $17,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

6 Lucky Heat - Leap of faith backing top tandem of trainer Ron Ellis and jockey Joe Talamo; watch the tote board for more clues.

5 Mudge - Getting long in the tooth with 12 losses; thing is she has run in the money five times which is not bad for this sad lot.

Long Shot - 2 Warrenspoweroflove

Race 4 - 1 mile, Purse $46,000, Optional claiming $40,000, 3-year-olds and up

4 Rocko’s Wheel - Getting class relief from a couple of stakes for this; from the top Philip D’Amato barn, his first start of the meet.

2 Brave Act - When Rafael Bejarano takes a call at Los Alamitos, I pay special attention; has good tactical speed to sit a nice trip.

Long Shot - 5 Downtown C. T.

Race 5 - 5 furlongs, Purse $15,000, Claiming $8,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

10 Sensational Nikki - Taking an important class drop in search of victory; one thing about Peter Miller, he places his horses to win.

9 It’s Aine - Be mindful to respect the tandem of trainer Paul Aguirre and jockey Iggy Puglisi; more often than not they are live.

Long Shot - 6 Benicia Gem

Race 6 - 1 mile, Purse $50,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

1 Mahee - Quite frankly if she repeats her last race, she will beat these; like the rail post at this 2-turn mile, saves all the ground.

7 Favorably - Trainer Bob Baffert does support the Los Alamitos meet; he doesn’t just send his culls, some of these can really run.

Long Shot - 8 Bayonet

Race 7 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $46,000, Optional claiming $20,000, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up

2 Smokey’s Legacy - Tiny edge on a very difficult race; ran two good races since being claimed by Dean Pederson, the last was not so good.

7 Odin - Tepid chalk in the most wide open race on the card; ridden by Scott Stevens, the older brother of HOF Gary Stevens.

Long Shot - 8 Gutsy Ruler

Race 8 - 1 mile, Purse $17,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, 3-year-olds and up

3 Blame It On Tekela - Has had 12 chances so far without graduating; the good part is the five seconds, one of these days Alice.

6 Pyrotechnics - He has had 15 chances so this race is not for the faint of heart; Joe Talamo sticking around for the finale, OK by me.
