Post Time 2 p.m.
Race 1 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $19,000, Maiden claiming $30,000, 2-year-olds
3 Slapshot Man - Showed some early speed in debut; Doug O’Neill babies usually improve with experience.
5 Cloudy River - Drayden Van Dyke is due to explode with winners this last week of the meet; 5-pounds off is like stealing.
Long Shot - 6 Papa Kade
Race 2 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $19,000, Maiden claiming $30,000, 3-year-olds and up
6 Boom Boys - Claimed by Peter Miller and spotted to win first out; he puts blinkers on and legs up aggressive Edwin Maldonado.
1 Island Freedom - FTS from the Mike Pupye barn; when those with experience look too slow, then the FTS all deserve a second look.
Long Shot - 7 Militant
Race 3 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $30,000, Claiming $32,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds
5 Myrna Lou - Taking a huge class drop for Molly Pearson; makes her Los Alamitos debut facing a motley crew.
6 Holiday Maker - Game win first time out of the box; remember that facing winners for the first time is a big step up in class.
Long Shot - 3 Oh Deann
Race 4 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $42,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds
3 South Texas - Has taken betting in both of her career starts; she improved a lot in second start, trending in the right direction.
7 Caymus Kat - FTS from the Tom Proctor barn; your edge over me is seeing the betting action on the debut starter.
Long Shot - 5 Party Rock
Race 5 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $12,000, Claiming $6,250, 3-year-olds and up
Bench Press - Sliding down the claiming ladder to this low rung; his race two back, if repeated, would beat these.
1 Youonlyliveonce - High percentage tandem during the cheaper racing at Los Alamitos; surprised this horse is only 5/2 morning line.
Long Shot - 2 Warren’s Jeff G.
Race 6 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $19,000, Maiden claiming $30,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds
4 Lady Dish - Rafael Deleon switches to Edwin Maldonado for the money shot; has tactical speed to sit a good trip throughout.
10 Stood Up - FTS from Art Sherman; with his focus on California Chrome in the Pennsylvania Derby, this one’s under the radar.
Long Shot - 3 Charmstealer
Race 7 - 7 furlongs, Purse $27,000, Starter allowance $25,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
2 Prettyhotprincess - Great to see Kent Desormeaux riding at the Los Alamitos meet; he had a great meet at Del Mar, keep the mojo going.
1 Tim’s Go Girl - Second start off the claim by Doug O’Neill; showed some gumption last time and another step improvement is possible.
Long Shot - 5 Appealing Resume
Race 8 - 6 furlongs, Purse $17,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
4 Swiss Perfection - Like the cutback in distance from 2-turn mile to sprint; should show a lot more energy in the late stages.
10 Sunday Stroll - Ran a career best when second last time out; key is another step improvement to possible graduate.
Long Shot - 6 Cocabella Myst
Best Bet - 5 Myrna Lou (race 3)
