Horse Racing: Today at Santa Anita, October 25

Post Time 1 p.m.

Race 1 - 5 furlongs, Purse $27,000, Starter allowance $12,500, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

2 Lindz Winz - Chance to sit a trip just off the dueling leaders; last win came in this same race condition.

1 Mahalo Princess - Speedball on the rail, simple tactics of break sharp and let her rip; Kayla Stra is a good jockey to do just that.

Long Shot - 5 Backwoods Belle

Race 2 - 1 mile, Purse $19,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

4 Sheza Dish - Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; has back races fast enough to beat these.

8 Afleet Echo - Nice parking lot post to stalk the early leaders; Rafael Bejarano prefers to save horse for the final furlong.

Long Shot - 6 Blameitonthecat

Race 3 - 1 mile, Purse $30,000, Starter allowance $40,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds

2 Midnight Candy - Appears to be a sharp claim by Rafael Becerra off a daylight maiden claiming win; she runs protected tonight.

7 Shezapiranha - Does this qualify her to be like an adult cougar; class relief from a good stakes race for this easier spot.

Long Shot - 1 Devil Beauty

Race 4 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 24 feet), Purse $56,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

1 Temeeku - Was running well late after an awful start to the race; like that Rafael Bejarano remsins loyal to the cause.

2 Susan B Good - First time down the hillside turf course; if you follow me, you know I like cut back horses, like this.

Long Shot - 10 Sidepocket Run

Race 5 - 6 furlongs, Purse $56,000, Maiden special weights, 2-year-olds

11 Remo - Gets class relief from a stakes to face just MSW; Leandro Mora, in place of Doug O’Neill, adding blinkers on.

3 Firing Line - FTS from the vastly underrated Simon Callaghan barn; fast works and Mike Smith up, all signals say go in debut.

Long Shot - 5 Lost in D Shuffle

Race 6 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 24 feet), Purse $58,000, Optional claiming $40,000, 3-year-olds and up

4 Maxx the Giant - Tiny edge in one of the most difficult races on the card; expect a full cavalry charge to the wire.

5 Conquest Two Step - When horses run well down the hill, like he did last time out, they tend to repeat it; Mark Casse has one live barn.

Long Shot - 7 Royal F J

Race 7 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $58,000, Optional claiming 420,000, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up

6 True Ten - His better races appear to be in 1-turn events; can likely sit a stalkers trip and rally wide late.

5 Kill Shot - Tepid chalk in another difficult heat; Bruce Headley colt has not been seen since November 2013, nearly a year ago.

Long Shot - 8 Justification

Race 8 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 24 feet), $100,000 Autumn Miss, Fillies, 3-year-olds

8 Zindaya - Christophe Clement tries this filly around 2-turns for the first time; she is fast and appears to have a big upside.

5 Lexie Lou - A very good field to whet the appetite for next week’s Breeders’ Cup; some of these 3-YOs will be heard from next year.

Long Shot - 7 Alexis Tangier

Race 9 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $19,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, 3-year-olds and up

8 The Twelfth Man - Was pushed into a very fast pace in last and paid the price; she may be better off seeking a target to sit off of.

4 Takeit Tothe Limit - Has earned three straight paychecks; has improved a lot with blinkers on, but is stuck at this bottom level.

Long Shot - 7 Shaniel

Best Bet - 11 Remo (race 5)
