NFL BAD BEATS BLOG: Upsets by Raiders, Dolphins highlight day

8:31 p.m.: For the baseball fans, the Tampa Bay Rays (-130) held on for a 2-1 victory over the Houston Astros in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series. The game stayed well under 8.

8:30 p.m.: FINAL: Seahawks 27, Vikings 26. Seattle scored with 15 seconds left to win outright at -300 ML. The Vikings cover as 6½-point road underdogs. The game stays just under 54.

8:25 p.m.: The Seahawks get it done. D.K. Metcalf catches a 6-yard TD pass on fourth-and-goal, and the Seahawks lead the Vikings 27-26 with 15 seconds left (2-point try failed).

8:14 p.m.: The Vikings’ gamble fails. They go for it on fourth-and-1 at the Seattle 6, trying to put the game away, but get stuffed. The Seahawks have the ball 1:57 left and one timeout.

8:03 p.m.: The Vikings get an interception with 5:45 left and will have a chance to put the game away.

7:55 p.m.: The Vikings retake the lead. Thielen catches a 6-yard TD pass, and the Vikings lead the Seahawks 26-21 with 7:08 left in the fourth quarter. The Vikings are now -158 on the live line (Seahawks +128).

7:48 p.m.: The Vikings are in Seattle territory, trailing 21-19 with 10:25 left in the fourth quarter. The Seahawks are -164 on the live line (Vikings +134).

7:31 p.m.: The Vikings aren’t going away. Adam Thielen catches a 3-yard TD pass, and the Vikings cut the Seahawks’ lead to 21-19 with 3:39 left in the third quarter (2-point try failed). The Seahawks are -290 on the live line (Vikings +225), spread -4½, total 56½.

7:19 p.m.: It took seven minutes for the Vikings to collapse in the third quarter. 7:07 p.m.: For the basketball fans, the Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA title with a 106-93 victory over the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the NBA Finals in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The Lakers covered as 5½-point favorites, -240 ML. The game stayed under 215.

7:04 p.m.: Seattle is on the board. Will Dissly catches a 19-yard TD pass, and the Seahawks cut the Vikings’ lead to 13-7 with 9:55 left in the third quarter. The Vikings dip to -112 on the live line (Seahawks -108), spread -1½, total 41½.

6:38 p.m.: Second-half line: Seahawks -7½, total 26.
