Westgate offers prop tying UFC main event to Super Bowl field goals

Once again, the Ultimate Fighting Championship will host an event in Las Vegas on Super Bowl weekend.

That makes the event a perfect candidate to be part of the many exotic Super Bowl proposition wagers for which the Westgate Las Vegas sports book has become famous over the years.

Even with a new main event on the card, a UFC-themed bet made the cut when the list of prop bets was released on Thursday night.

Oddsmakers at the Westgate installed the number of completed rounds in the welterweight bout between Johny Hendricks and Stephen Thompson as a slight favorite over the number of total field goals made in the Super Bowl.

The completed full rounds are minus-.5 over the total field goals. For the uninitiated, that means if the same number of field goals are made as rounds completed, bettors wagering on the field goals would win.

Thompson and Hendricks will meet the headliner of the UFC card on Feb. 6 at MGM Grand. The Denver Broncos will play the Carolina Panthers in the Super Bowl the following day.

The line on the total rounds in the fight is at 4.5.
