Boxers Haney, Cortes settle for silver at Junior Olympic National Championships

Local boxers Devin Haney and Andres Cortes won silver medals at Saturday’s Junior Olympic National Championships in Mobile, Ala.
Haney, a bantamweight from Las Vegas, was defeated 2-1 by Ruben Villa of Salinas, Calif.
Cortes, a lightweight from Henderson, lost 3-0 to Keoni Adric Jr. of Haleima, Hawaii.
A third Nevada fighter, Mario Hernandez of Sparks, took silver in the 176-pound weight division after losing to Sergio Flores of Overland Park, Kan., 2-1.
