Pacquiao-Mosley telecast available online

For those who won't be home but want to watch Saturday's Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley welterweight title fight, there's good news.
Top Rank, which is promoting the fight at the MGM Grand Garden, is making the pay-per-view telecast available online for the first time. The streaming video will be available on computers, phones and iPads for $54.95, the same price as the PPV at home.
"We can reach consumers in a modern media way," Top Rank president Todd duBoef said. "In today's modern world, people are used to accepting a digital platform. This will appeal to a younger audience and for people who are in transit and don't have a cable box."
DuBoef said the cybercast isn't intended to replace the traditional pay-per-view buys in homes.
"I don't know that it changes the dynamics of pay per view as much as it augments it," he said. "We've got 80 million homes to sell the fight to, so I don't see the cybercast as a substitute. What it does is it gives us more platforms to allow people who want to watch the fight the opportunity to do so. If you're on a plane, you normally wouldn't be able to see the fight. Now, you'll be able to."
DuBoef didn't want to guess how the cybercast will sell.
"All I know is we've been sold out (in the MGM) for three weeks, our closed-circuit advance sales have been phenomenal, and we've had great presale on the pay-per-view orders," he said. "I'd like to think we'll do well online the first time it's being offered."
Saturday's prime-time showing of the third installment of "Fight Club 360" on CBS figures to give a big boost to the pay-per-view and cybercast purchases this week. To order the fight online, go to toprank.com, cbs.com, showtimesports.com, cox.com or yahoo.com and click on the pay-per-view link on the home page.
