Tickets go on sale for Bradley-Marquez on Oct. 12 at Thomas & Mack

Timothy Bradley Jr. will defend his WBO welterweight title against Juan Manuel Marquez on Oct. 12 at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Tickets, priced from $50 to $800, go on sale at noon Friday at the Thomas & Mack Center box office and other UNLV Tickets outlets, online at UNLVtickets.com or by calling 702-739-3267.

The fight will be televised on HBO Pay Per View.

Bradley, 29, (30-0, 12 KOs), from Palm Springs, Calif., won the title from Manny Pacquiao in a split decision on June 9, 2012. He also has held three belts as a junior welterweight.

Marquez, 39, (55-6-1, 40 KOs), of Mexico City, is seeking a world title in his fifth different weight division. He fought Pacquiao, losing twice, drawing once and finally knocking him out on Dec. 8 in Las Vegas.

“I know that the one thing he and I will have in common, stepping into that ring, is that we’re both warriors,” Bradley said in a statement announcing the fight. “Neither one of us will take defeat as an option and with that being said we can say the countdown has officially begun.”

The Bradley-Marquez fight tenatively had been scheduled for Sept. 14. But Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will meet that night at the MGM Grand.
