Brown’s single gives Centennial extra-inning breakthrough

Johnna Brown singled home Teresa Healy with two outs in the top of the eighth inning Monday, lifting Centennial's softball team to a 2-1 road victory over Shadow Ridge.

Bre Egge's RBI single in the fifth inning drove in the Bulldogs' other run. Ashley Huddleston had an RBI single in the third for the Mustangs.

Lauren Lynds went the distance, allowing four hits and striking out four. Shadow Ridge's Mandy Harmon gave up eight hits and struck out 12.

Foothill 6, Coronado 5 -- At Coronado, Amanda Keven had two doubles and scored twice to lead the Falcons over the Cougars.

Foothill led 6-1 before Coronado scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh. Falcons pitcher Shantel Straily induced a bases-loaded lineout to second base to end the game.

Carter Jones was 2-for-3 with a run scored for Coronado.

Palo Verde 9, Arbor View 1 -- At Arbor View, Brittany Martin had two doubles and two runs scored to lead the Panthers over the Aggies.

Lauren Stover had a double and two runs for Palo Verde.

Silverado 13, Vo-Tech 1 -- At Silverado, Amanda Edmonson was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs as the Skyhawks defeated the Roadrunners in five innings.

Katie Devlin added a triple and three RBIs for Silverado. Hazel Lowrey went the distance to get the win, allowing one hit and striking out eight.

Legacy 17, Mojave 7 -- At Legacy, Briana Zamorano went 3-for-4 with four RBIs to lead the Longhorns over the Rattlers in five innings.

Legacy's Cristina Ortiz was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Kayla Murray was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Legacy.

Cimarron-Memorial 8, Cheyenne 3 -- At Cheyenne, Chelsea Williams had a triple and a double, and Jennifer Liddell was 2-for-2 as the Spartans defeated the Desert Shields.

Stephanie Vacca went 3-for-4, including two triples, for Cheyenne.

Green Valley 4, Basic 3 -- At Basic, Breanna Yard hit a two-run homer to highlight a four-run third inning as the Gators defeated the Wolves.

Kayla Anderson was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Green Valley. Losing pitcher Aaren Fisher allowed no earned runs on five hits, struck out 13 and walked none. She also went 3-for-3.

Liberty 13, Del Sol 11 -- At Del Sol, the Patriots had just two hits, but they took advantage of nine errors to defeat the Patriots.

Del Sol's Erin Miller was 3-for-5 with two triples.

BASEBALL

Basic 7, Green Valley 6 -- At Basic, John Anderson scored on an error with two outs in the sixth inning to lift the Wolves over the Gators.

Mike Schulte was 3-for-3 with two RBIs to lead Basic, and Nick Feher, Mike Feher and Brett Wellman each added two hits. Jordan Van Hoosier was 3-for-4 for Green Valley.

Coronado 9, Foothill 0 -- At Coronado, Josh Bryan was 3-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI to lead the Cougars over the Falcons.

Jake Wagner was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI. Brandon Evans and Javy Perez combined on a three-hitter, with Evans allowing two hits in four innings and striking out eight.

Arbor View 10, Palo Verde 4 -- At Arbor View, Brooks Robinson's two-run, pinch-hit triple highlighted a six-run fourth inning that helped the Aggies defeat the Panthers.

David McClure was 2-for-4 with three RBIs for Arbor View, which trailed 4-1 entering the fourth.

Silverado 9, Vo-Tech 4 -- At Silverado, Justin Rainville had two hits and scored twice, and Tony Valiente went 2-for-3 with two runs as the Skyhawks defeated the Roadrunners.

Luis Mendoza went 2-for-3 for Vo-Tech.

Centennial 9, Shadow Ridge 7 -- At Shadow Ridge, Trevor Goff went 3-for-4 as the Bulldogs defeated the Mustangs.

Nate Rink (two RBIs) and Kyle Kravetz each went 2-for-4 for Centennial, which led 9-0 entering the sixth.

Colton Simons was 2-for-3 for Shadow Ridge.

Del Sol 9, Liberty 8 -- At Del Sol, Ryan Klorman was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, and Brian Madrid had two hits and three RBIs to lead the Dragons past the Patriots.

Cimarron-Memorial 15, Cheyenne 2 -- At Cheyenne, Zach Walters went 3-for-4 as the Spartans defeated the Desert Shields in five innings.

Dyllon Nuernberg, Kody Gorden, Travis Feiner and Brent Swaner all were 2-for-3 for Cimarron. Cheyenne's George Paula hit a two-run homer.
