Flanagan’s four TDs key Mojave win

Ty Flanagan rushed for 292 yards and four touchdowns on 12 carries Saturday to help Mojave’s football team defeat Skyview (Idaho) 48-40 in the Rocky Mountain Rumble at Pocatello, Idaho.

Flanagan’s 82-yard touchdown run 21 seconds into the fourth quarter broke a 34-34 tie in the Rattlers’ season opener.

Zack Arave added a 7-yard scoring run with 6:45 remaining to help Mojave build a 48-34 lead. The Hawks scored with 11 seconds left and attempted an onside kick, but Mojave recovered and ran out the clock.

Mojave rushed for 403 yards among its 508 total yards. Arave had TD passes to Davion Fletcher and Marcus Parker.

■ Shelley (Idaho) 27, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Pocatello, Idaho, the Russets scored three first-half touchdowns, all on fourth-down plays, and blanked the Crusaders in the Rocky Mountain Rumble.

Shelley scored in the first half on plays of 6, 11 and 9 yards to build a 20-0 lead and added a 33-yard touchdown pass on third-and-11 in the third quarter.
