Texans RB Foster suffers serious groin injury in training camp

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster suffered a serious groin injury in Monday's training camp practice and might require surgery.

The recovery time if Foster opts for surgery would likely necessitate a roster move and Foster would be a candidate for the injured reserve list with a designation to return later in the season.

Foster, 28, missed 11 games in the past two seasons and played in 13 games in 2014.

Behind Foster, the Texans have Alfred Blue, Jonathan Grimes and Chris Polk.

Coach Bill O'Brien said Foster would be monitored but did not discuss the injury in detail.
