Giants outfielder Hunter Pence out 6-8 weeks with broken arm

San Francisco Giants outfielder Hunter Pence suffered a broken left forearm when he was hit by a pitch on Thursday during a Cactus League game against the Chicago Cubs and will be sidelined for six to eight weeks.

X-rays indicated that Pence has a non-displaced fracture in his left forearm that will keep him out of spring training and likely the first month of the regular season. The 32-year-old Pence was hit just above his left wrist by a pitch.

In two seasons with the Giants, Pence has never missed a regular-season game, playing in all 162 games in 2013 and 2014, and has a streak of 383 consecutive games. Since 2008, he has never played in fewer than 154 games.

Last year, Pence batted .277 with 20 home runs and 74 RBIs for the Giants.
