Golf team 12th with round left

The UNLV men's golf team shot another 7-under-par 281 but dropped two spots Friday after the second round of the NCAA West Regional at Tempe, Ariz.
The sixth-ranked Rebels are tied for 12th with California, Pepperdine and Wake Forest at 14-under 562 with one round left. The top 10 teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, May 30 to June 2 in Williamsburg, Va.
UNLV trails Arizona, Stanford and New Mexico, who are tied for eighth, by five strokes and 11th-place Vanderbilt by three.
UCLA remained in the lead, at 35-under 541.
Seung-su Han and Jarred Texter shot sub-par rounds to lead the Rebels. Han had seven birdies in a round of 5-under 67 that left him tied for 30th at 5-under 139. Texter fired a 68 and is tied for 42nd at 140.
Eddie Olson (74/142), CJ Gatto (76/145) and Brett Kanda (72/150) completed UNLV's total.
Arizona State's Benjamin Alvarado and USC's Jamie Lovemark share the individual lead at 132.
• BASEBALL -- Xavier Scruggs' three-run homer highlighted a nine-run seventh inning as the Rebels beat Air Force 13-4 in a Mountain West Conference game at Wilson Stadium.
Kevin Skogley (3-5) worked the first 6 1/3 innings for UNLV (21-34, 9-14), which will conclude its regular season today with a 2 p.m. game against the Falcons (8-43, 0-22). Skogley gave up five hits and two runs.
