Horse Racing: Today at Hollywood Park, Nov. 30

Post Time 12:30 p.m.

Race 1 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $25,000, Claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up

1 Designer - Bob Baffert cull is mysteriously dropped to $25K off a MSW win; not many claim from Baffert with any success.

3 Tribe - Class relief racing for a price tag for the first time; has no early speed so will have to come from far back.

Long Shot - 6 Proud Boss

Race 2 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 10 feet), $100,000 Generous, 2-year-olds

1 Royal Banker - Makes his SoCal debut in the Generous; like top turf rider Corey Nakatani up, watch the tote board for clues.

5 Aotearoa - Draw a live thru the Breeders’ Cup and his resume looks just fine; facing an easier task tonight.

Long Shot - 2 Ontology

Race 3 - 6 furlongs, Purse $30,000, Claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds

2 Derringer - Mike Mitchell class dropper has a good synthetic resume; Joe Talamo riding a lot of live horses on today’s card.

5 Too Fast to Pass - Peter Miller drops him down where he did good business at Del Mar; those fields had to be tougher too.

Long Shot - 1 Money Cannon

Race 4 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 10 feet), $100,000 Miesque, Fillies, 2-year-olds

3 Clenor - Had a nice win streak broken in the Breeders’ Cup; returns to normalcy here and can pick up where she left off.

5 Nesso - Takes the blinkers off so she won’t be so speed crazy; if she can race covered up, she can be a very dangerous filly.

Long Shot - 4 Love In The Desert

Race 5 - 6 furlongs, Purse $45,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, 2-year-olds

8 This Cat’s Awesome - Was a clocker special in debut and ran second best; if he improves one step, he’ll be double tough.

3 Sir Vronski - FTS from Jeff Bonde barn has been working fast in Pleasanton; watch the tote board for additional clues.

Long Shot - 4 Lucky Jack

Race 6 - 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 10 feet), Optional claiming $25,000, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up

5 Brown Boss - I take a handicapping hint which horses Rafael Bejarano was riding; when he leaves town, they are still live.

8 Turn On the Pumps - Carla Gaines tries blinkers on after many frustrating seconds; tactical speed to sit a decent trip.

Long Shot - 3 Volkonsky

Race 7 - 6 furlongs, Purse $45,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, 2-year-olds

3 Pray Hard - After 3 straight seconds, is turning into a money burner; has shown improvement with each start though.

6 Oh Billy Billy - Usually good horses have good names; this one cost $400K and I Bob Baffert just trained him, not named him.Long Shot - 1 Mauco

Race 8 - 6 furlongs (turf, rail at 10 feet), Purse $48,000, Optional claiming $40,000, 3-year-olds and up

1 U S Citizen - Moves from outside post to inside today; has a good resume over Inglewood sod, can save all the ground today.

2 Brokered - Like the cutback in distance where he should sit a trip and fire late; grass sprints are often won by closers.

Long Shot - 5 He’s a Dance Star

Race 9 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $18,000, Claiming $12,500, 3-year-olds and up

4 Danderek - Big class dropper from the maestro Jerry Hollendorfer; his race 2 back, if repeated, would squash these.

8 Graeme Crackerjack - Sharp win over cheaper in last, earned the class rise; value from Agapito Delgadillo riding.,

Long Shot - 1 Cook Inlet

Race 10 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $18,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, 3-year-olds and up

9 Magic Daddy - Bob Baffert cull need not be much to win this; if you’re live in the Pick 4 or Pick 6, I hope you’re spread out.

3 Mary Helen’s Storm - Joe Talamo has a good batting average for winning the finale; keeps his focus and his energy to the end.

Long Shot - 5 America Rising

Best Bet - 3 Clenor (race 4)

Hollywood Park Friday - Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 15/4/$20.60; Long Shots, 8/1/$5.20; Best Bet, 1/1/$5.00

SIMULCAST PLAY OF THE DAY - #10 Stonetastic (7/2) in race 9 at Churchill Downs. For scoring purposes, we’ll make a hypothetical $2 win, place and show bet, $6 total. On Friday, Easter Gift ran third at Churchill Downs paying $5.20 to show. Stats - 186/125/$1,016.60; Follow him on Twitter: @richeng4propick
