Late error dooms 51s again in Sacramento

A late error cost the 51s again Tuesday in West Sacramento, Calif.

Shortstop Sergio Garcia's throwing error allowed two runs to score to tie the game in the eighth, and J.J. Furmaniak's squeeze bunt brought home the winning run in the inning as the River Cats defeated Las Vegas 6-5 in the Pacific Coast League.

On Monday, shortstop Tony Abreu's 10th-inning error allowed the winning run to score.

The 51s (10-8) took a 5-3 lead in the eighth on Larry Barnes' RBI single and Abreu's two-run triple. Abreu went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and one run, and Garcia was 2-for-5.

Reliever Matt White took the loss, allowing three runs (one earned) on two hits and one walk in one inning.

Sacramento (13-6) took a 3-2 lead on Dan Johnson's three-run homer in the fifth.

Las Vegas is off today, then will open an eight-game homestand Thursday, with four games against Tacoma and four against Sacramento.
