Updated March 11, 2019 - 9:54 pm

UFC star Conor McGregor has run afoul of the law once again.

The former two-division champion was arrested Monday afternoon in Miami hours after allegedly grabbing a cellphone from a man as he was leaving the famed Fontainebleau Miami Beach and smashing the phone before taking the pieces with him.

The 22-year-old victim was allegedly trying to take McGregor’s photo in an incident that occurred shortly after 5 a.m.

The incident was reportedly captured on surveillance cameras.

According to a Miami Beach police report, McGregor was arrested and charged with strong-armed robbery, a second-degree felony, and criminal mischief, a third-degree felony.

McGregor, 30, allegedly slapped the phone out of the man’s hand and then stomped on it. After an investigation, McGregor was located at a private residence belonging to him and arrested in the afternoon.

The star fighter, who formerly held both the featherweight and lightweight belts, has been in the area on vacation with his family for several days according to posts on his social media accounts.

He is being held on $12,500 bail for the two charges, according to court records.

“Last evening Conor McGregor was involved in a minor altercation involving a cell phone that resulted in a call to law enforcement,” his attorney Samuel Rabin said in a statement. “Mr. McGregor appreciates the response of law enforcement and pledges his full cooperation.”

McGregor is currently serving a suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission for his role in a post-fight brawl after a title fight loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at T-Mobile Arena in October.

He recently completed the terms of his sentence for charges in New York stemming from an attack on a bus featuring several fighters at Barclays Center in April.

A UFC spokesperson declined comment on the matter
