Post Time 2:05 p.m.
Race 1 – 6 ½ furlongs, Purse $36,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
9 Nite Delite – Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; has speed to lead or sit under Rafael Bejarano.
6 Kiss My Face – Another taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; been in the money her last three starts.
Long Shot – 10 Blue Cilantro
Race 2 – 1 mile (turf, rail at 12 feet), Purse $40,000, Claiming $32,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
6 Smart N Dreamy – Richard Baltas runners have been very live this meet; like being reunited with Rafael Bejarano who last won on her.
1 Miss Ellany – With the turf rail out 12 feet, it should help her early speed chances; Tyler Baze is a wonderful gate and speed rider.
Long Shot – 3 Frandontjudge
Race 3 – 6 furlongs, Purse $72,000, Optional claiming $20,000, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up
4 London Legacy – Has shown enormous improvement since switched to the Gary Sherluck barn; was unlucky in last, chance to redeem himself.
7 Tough Sunday – Ran great in last off a 6-month hiatus; was thought of enough to run in the Cal Cup Derby back in January at Santa Anita.
Long Shot – 5 Pulla Train
Race 4 – 1 mile, Purse $23,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, 3-year-olds and up
8 Shanty Irish – Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; Rafael Bejarano has a lot of live mounts today.
13 Jens de Ville – Must draw in from the also eligible list; if he does, he will go off as the post time favorite.
Long Shot – 7 Gunslinger
Race 5 – 7 furlongs, $200,000 Real Good Deal, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds
6 Gimme Da Lute – Courageous win last out in the open Los Alamitos Derby; these are supposed to be easier Cal-breds, but you never know.
4 Grazen Sky – Has chased Gimme Da Lute before and ran a good second to him; has shown even more improvement since, a puncher’s chance.
Long Shot – 2 Rocko’s Wheel
Race 6 – 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 12 feet), Purse $40,000, Starter allowance $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
9 I’ll Wrap It Up – Trainer Paulo Lobo has not won a race in how many months, maybe years; we know the man can still train a racehorse.
4 All Run – Horses that have trained and raced at Golden Gate Fields are doing great at Del Mar; my theory is it’s the Tapeta synthetic surface.
Long Shot – 6 Cervaro
Race 7 – 5 ½ furlongs, Purse $70,000, Maiden special weights, 2-year-olds
3 Blameitonthelaw – With so many talented FTS, you have a big edge over me; you’ll be able to see all of the tote board action.
9 Who’s Out – From the maestro trainer Jerry Hollendorfer; he has been using jockey Flavien Prat more and more often.
Long Shot – 7 Global Event
Race 8 – 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 12 feet), Purse $75,000, Optional claiming $62,500, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
1 Artistic Charm – Finally pulled thru with a nice win last out after two frustrating seconds; sometimes the light goes on and they win again.
6 Mangita – Would bet that she goes off at lower odds than her 12/1 morning line; has some early lick and from the top Bruce Headley barn.
Long Shot – 7 One More
Race 9 – 6 furlongs, Purse $22,000, Claiming $16,000, 3-year-olds and up
5 Flat Gone – Sliding down the claiming ladder to this new career low; I look at class droppers much differently at Del Mar meet.
3 With the Breeze – Did a classic pop and stop last time; now is dropped in class some more by Vann Belvoir in search of a victory.
Long Shot – 12 Go First
Best Bet - 5 Flat Gone (race 9)
