Texans coach O’Brien’s mother doesn’t like her son cursing on “Hard Knocks”

Houston Texans coach Bill O'Brien could be headed for H-E-double hockey sticks — or at least he'll catch plenty of it from his mother — unless he starts watching his mouth on HBO's "Hard Knocks" show.

Before the behind-the-scenes training camp series made its 2015 debut recently on the cable network, O'Brien said he called his parents and asked them not to watch it, lest they be disappointed by his potty mouth.

"Especially my mother. She's Irish Catholic and she goes to Mass I think every day," he said. "She's not going to be very happy with me."

O'Brien's mother, Anne, ignored his request and watched the show anyway. Sure enough, she told KHOU 11 News that she wishes there wasn't so much profanity.

"I think it's one thing when you're coaching the kids and involved in football and practices," she said.

But it's another thing when the whole world is watching, she said, adding that the profanity just isn't her boy.

"To be honest with you, he doesn't talk like that when he's home at all," she said. "Well, he's never talked that way around me."

Aside from her son's frequent use of f-bombs, Anne O'Brien said she loved the show and insisted that her boy doesn't need to go to confession. Instead she wants him to "just say a little prayer."

Amen.
