‘The ‘Stache’ is back

Hey Rebel fans,

We are really excited about coming back home and playing in front of you. There really is no place like home. I might be a little biased, but our fans are the best in the country. Thank you for all of your support!

Looking back at last week, it was a tough road trip for us. Don’t get me wrong, Air Force is a tough place to play and even though we lost two-of-three, I think we really came together as a team. We showed some spirit and got some energy and some swagger back. That was good to see in the second two games after getting routed in the first game.

We have a little pep in our step and that is a good thing. We battled back on Sunday and even though we came up short, it was good to see our guys fight back. And then we responded against Grand Canyon on Tuesday.

The win against GCU was pretty big for us because of how we lost in the series finale to the Falcons. It was nice to get back on the field and play like we know we can play. They beat us at their place earlier this season, but this wasn’t really a “grudge match.” We needed to come out and play well and we did. Our starting pitcher, freshman Blaze Bohall, did a great job from the mound. He threw really well and now has had a couple good outings in a row. If he continues to pitch the way he has, he will be a big asset for us later this season.

This weekend we host Northwestern for four games and even though they haven’t won a bunch of games coming into the series, we need to be ready. We are not taking them for granted. We are going to compete and try to win every pitch. If we can do that, we will be OK in the end.

There is new mentality on our team. We know that if we play the way we can, there is no deficit or adversity we can’t overcome. We also wanted to get back together and do something as a team, so we decided to bring back our “Fear The ‘Stache” theme that we had last year. We are 1-0 with the mustaches so far and its great because everyone has bought in. Baseball is supposed to be fun and we all are enjoying it right now. That’s what it is all about.

We look forward to seeing you out at the stadium Rebel fans!
