FLAT SPOT?

In the immediate aftermath of Brigham Young’s loss to Texas Christian last week, it was easy to imagine the Cougars coming out angry and taking out some frustration on UNLV today.

But after watching the BYU pre-game show, or “Mountain West Conference Football Saturday” as it is officially known, there may be another factor at work: Starting left tackle Dallas Reynolds appeared devastated by the loss.

The Cougars now really have very little to play for, at least compared to the BCS bid they desired.

It’s possible BYU could be very flat today in their first game since losing out on that chance.

HUH?

The Mountain West Conference pre-game show features a segment called "2-Minute Warning."

The segment features the host and three analysts running down their thoughts on a list of topics.

The host was clearly just saying things to be contrarian.

Why even give opinions at that point.

He said while discussing one rule that needs to be changed that he would like to see players be forced to sit out a few plays in instances of off-setting personal fouls.

Sorry, this isn’t hockey.

Then, he said the best team in the conference is Air Force.

There’s no way he believes that.

Certainly whatever broadcasting school he went to told him in situations like that to try to give unexpected answers, but this was excessive.
