Local colleges: CSN baseball hangs on for win Las Vegas tournament

Morgan Stotts homered in the seventh inning, and the College of Southern Nevada baseball team beat Northeastern Junior College 3-2 on Saturday to finish 4-0 in the Coyote Classic at Morse Stadium.
With the score tied at 2 and two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Stotts hit a solo shot to left field. Reliever Taylor Giordano pitched a perfect eighth for the Coyotes (6-2), and closer Chevas Numata got into and out of a two-out, bases-loaded jam in the ninth.
■ UNLV MEN'S TENNIS - The UNLV men's tennis team beat New Mexico State 6-1 at the Fertitta Tennis Complex, improving to 4-0 for the first time in four years.
The Rebels took two of three doubles matches for the first point, then won five of six in singles. Ace Matias paced the Rebels with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Luis Ramirez at No. 1.
■ UNLV TRACK AND FIELD - At Flagstaff, Ariz., Kelsey Williamson and Myra Dean paced the UNLV track and field team with wins at the Mountain T's Invitational in Flagstaff, Ariz. Williamson won the 800-meter run, and Dean won the high jump.
■ UNLV SWIMMING AND DIVING - The UNLV men's swimming and diving team beat Wyoming 166.5-131.5, and the women's team came up just short in a 151-149 loss to the Cowgirls at Buchanan Natatorium. Giacomo Gremizzi won two events for the men's team, and Jessica Heim, Carmen Robb and Nakayla Chan had two wins apiece for the women.
