Donations, cuts help UNLV balance sports budget

Jim Livengood’s two greatest fears were having to cut athletic programs and jobs. The UNLV athletic director used increased donations and spending cuts to save programs and jobs and said Tuesday he expects the athletic department to finish the fiscal year June 30 with perhaps a $150,000 to $200,000 surplus.
