Schneider, New Mexico coast to baseball win over Rebels

Luis Gonzalez and Jared Holley each had two doubles and four RBIs to back Carson Schneider’s strong pitching in leading New Mexico to a 15-3 win over UNLV in a Mountain West baseball game Friday in Albuquerque, N.M.
Gonzalez went 4-for-6 and Holley 3-for-5 as the Lobos (18-8, 8-2) won their third straight in fifth in six games.
Schneider (5-1) held the Rebels (9-16, 3-7) to one run on seven hits and no walks and struck out one in eight innings.
Payton Squier went 3-for-4 for UNLV, which was outhit 18-10 in its eighth loss in nine games and 10th straight loss to New Mexico in Albuquerque.
Rebels starter D.J. Myers (2-1) gave up nine runs, eight earned on 10 hits and three walks and struck out two in 4 2/3 innings.
