UNLV loses Mountain West baseball opener at Fresno State, 10-5

Manny Argomaniz hit a three-run homer and Austin Guibor a solo shot in the first inning Friday in leading Fresno State to a 10-5 win over UNLV in the Rebels’ Mountain West baseball opener in Fresno, Calif.

UNLV starter Bryan Bonnell (1-1) was tagged for six earned runs on four hits and four walks in 1 2/3 innings. The Rebels (6-3, 0-1) trailed 6-0 after two innings and 7-0 after five.

Guibor finished 3-for-3 as the Bulldogs (4-5, 1-3) held a 12-7 edge in hits.

Erik VanMeetren, who hit an RBI double in the sixth inning and a two-run triple in the eighth, was the only UNLV player with multiple hits.
