The UNLV men's golf team was in fourth at the fog-delayed Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate in Vestavia, Ala. Two rounds were due to be completed Monday, but the fog forced a late start, and most teams did not finish the second round.
UNLV shot 10-over 290 in the opening round and was at 14 over par when play was called for the day. Florida led at 8 over.
Blake Biddle was tied for second to lead the Rebels after shooting even-par 70, then moving to 1 under through 15 holes in the second round. AJ McInerney, who opened with a 69, was tied for seventh at 1 over through 12 holes in the second round. Auburn's Michael Johnson led the field at 4 under.
The three-round event concludes today.
■ WOMEN'S SOCCER - UNLV's Caitlin Allen was named the Mountain West Conference women's defensive player of the week for her efforts in a 2-1 loss to No. 7 San Diego State and a 2-0 victory over New Mexico. The shutout victory snapped the Lobos' 17-game MWC unbeaten streak.
