UNLV women’s golf takes sixth at Washington tourney

The UNLV women's golf team took sixth in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Sammamish, Wash. The Rebels shot 30-over 318 in the final round Wednesday for a 63-over 927 total in the 16-team event.
Dana Finkelstein shot 6-over 78 for an 11-over 227 total to lead UNLV, tying for 13th individually.
Host Washington won the team title at 22-over 886, and the Huskies got the individual title as well, with SooBin Kim shooting 5-under 67 for an 11-under 205 total.
■ WOMEN'S TENNIS - UNLV went 8-0 in singles play, winning all eight matches in straight sets, to open the USTA/ITA Division I Mountain Regional Championships at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
Lucia Batta, the top seed, led the Rebels with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Montana State's Paulina Lopez. Other winners included No. 2 seed Aleksandra Josifoska and fourth-seeded Nives Pavlovic. UNLV also won three of its four doubles matches.
