UNLV’s Finkelstein tied for second in NCAA golf regional

Dana Finkelstein shot a second straight round of 1-over-par 72 and is tied for second place in the women’s NCAA St. George Regional, helping UNLV to sixth place after two rounds of the 18-team, three-round event in St. George, Utah.

The top six teams advance to the NCAA Championship.

Finkelstein, at 144, is tied with Stanford’s Shannon Aubert, one stroke behind Southern California’s Annie Park.

USC leads the team standings at 17-over 585. Stanford is next at 596, followed by Arkansas (602), California (602), Virginia (604) and UNLV (605). Southern Methodist and Wisconsin are tied for seventh at 611.

For the Rebels, freshman Mackenzie Raim is tied for 24th at 9-over 151, and sophomore Avery French is tied for 37th at 154. Senior Mayko Chwen Wang and freshman Harley Dubsky are tied for 58th at 157.
