Reserve quarterback Clausen stars in Rebels’ spring scrimmage

Backup quarterback Mike Clausen was the star of UNLV's spring football scrimmage today at Sam Boyd Stadium. He completed 10 of 14 passes for 152 yards, with touchdown passes of 13 yards to Rodelin Anthony and 48 yards to Jerriman Robinson.

Starting quarterback Omar Clayton completed 4 of 7 passes for 73 yards.

“We’ve got a very healthy situation at quarterback in that we have Omar as our No. 1 and in reality Mike Clausen as a 1A,” coach Mike Sanford said. “He’s been very competitive, he’s been very sharp, and we expect him to carry that into the fall.”
