Two UNLV football players named to preseason All-Mountain West Conference team

Two members of the UNLV football team have been named to the preseason All-Mountain West Conference team.

Ryan Wolfe, a senior who was a first-team All-MWC wide receiver last season, was named one of three receivers on the preseason team.

Fellow senior Jason Beauchamp was one of three linebackers selected for the honor.

Beauchamp was a second-team all-conference performer last season.

Only three players were unanimously selected to the team.

Brigham Young tight end Dennis Pitta was the only offensive player to earn that honor. Texas Christian defensive lineman Jerry Hughes and Utah linebacker Stevenson Sylvester were unanimous selections on the defensive side of the ball.

Sylvester is a Valley High School graduate.

Rashaun Greer, a Mojave alum now attending Colorado State, was also named to the team as a wide receiver.

BYU quarterback Max Hall was tabbed as the preseason offensive player of the year.

Hughes was the defensive pick, while teammate Jeremy Kerley, a junior, was chosen as the special teams preseason player of the year.

The Horned Frogs also have the preseason freshman of the year, running back Ed Wesley.
