Anderson caps Lady Rebels’ comeback win over Air Force

The UNLV women's basketball team erased a nine-point deficit in the final two minutes to beat Air Force 77-76 in a Mountain West Conference game Tuesday at Air Force Academy, Colo.

Raimee Beck's layup gave Air Force a 76-75 lead with 14 seconds left. UNLV's Erica Helms then took the ball upcourt and missed a running jumper, with the Falcons getting the rebound, but Latoya Hunt stole the ball back.

Hunt then lost control of the ball, but Amanda Anderson grabbed it and hit a short jumper in the lane for the winning basket with 3.4 seconds remaining.

Kelli Thompson led the Lady Rebels (9-12, 2-5 MWC) with 24 points, going 9-for-9 on free throws. Beck paced Air Force (3-16, 0-6) with 26 points.
