Lady Rebels can’t keep up with Colorado State surge

The UNLV women's basketball team lost to Colorado State 65-49 in a Mountain West Conference game Saturday at Fort Collins, Colo.

The Lady Rebels trailed 27-20 at halftime. The Rams made 10 of their first 15 shots in the second half to stretch the lead to 52-30, and UNLV (12-15, 5-8) got no closer than 14 after that.

Mia Bell had 10 points as the only Lady Rebel to reach double figures. Kim Mestagh led Colorado State (13-12, 5-7) with 23 points, hitting six 3-pointers.

UNLV was hurt by 1-for-17 3-point shooting. The Rams made 9 of 25 from behind the arc (36 percent).
