Lady Rebels fall to Oklahoma State

The UNLV women's basketball team led No. 22 Oklahoma State by 10 points in the first half and trailed by one point at halftime.

But the Cowgirls (7-2) went on a 12-0 run early in the second half, and the Lady Rebels couldn't recover in an 88-73 loss at Cox Pavilion in the title game of the Desert Draw.

Andrea Riley had 22 points and 10 assists for the Cowgirls.

Freshman Jamie Smith led UNLV (5-5) with 27 points and had 11 rebounds and five assists. India Chaney added 14 points, and Erica Helms had 11 points and eight assists.

UNLV finished 6-5 in its nonconference portion of the season and will look to turn things around when Mountain West play begins Saturday against Fresno State.
