No. 24 Nebraska routs Lady Rebels

No. 24 Nebraska limited UNLV to one field goal in the first 14 minutes of the second half and coasted to a 65-41 victory Tuesday in a women's college basketball game at Lincoln, Neb.

The Lady Rebels (4-2) committed 26 turnovers and shot a season-low 24 percent (15 of 50) from the field. Their largest deficit was 27 points.

Kelli Thompson scored 12 points for UNLV, and Jamie Smith had 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Nebraska (6-0) hit six 3-pointers in the first half and nine overall in winning its 25th straight home game.

UNLV trailed 18-16 with 5:31 left in the first half, but the Cornhuskers went on a 13-3 run to end the half.

Nebraska opened the second half with a 17-2 run.
