The way the laurels are falling at his feet, you would almost think new UNLV men’s basketball coach Dave Rice had built a winning legacy as a head coach.
It might be a while before any of the top local high school players in the 2012 class decide where they will play college basketball.
As Dave Rice prepares to return to his alma mater, he might not be the only former Rebel coming home to coach basketball.
Seven years ago, Dave Rice left UNLV with no idea if he would return. He finally got the call to come home and will be officially welcomed back Monday. Rice accepted an offer today to be the Rebels’ next basketball coach.
On the eve of UNLV’s version of “The Decision,” Reggie Theus coached an NBA game in Denver and Dave Rice watched TV with his family at their home in Provo, Utah.
