San Diego State rips Lady Rebels

The UNLV women's basketball team trailed 49-17 at halftime, and it didn't get much better in the second half of a 70-41 Mountain West Conference loss to host San Diego State on Wednesday night.

The Lady Rebels (7-10, 0-3 MWC) led 4-2 early, but the Aztecs (11-4, 3-0) followed with a 13-0 run.

UNLV got within 15-11 midway through the first half, before San Diego State countered with a 34-6 run to virtually put the game away by halftime. The Lady Rebels drew no closer than 28 in the second half.

Sandrine Nzeukou had 10 points for UNLV, which made 14 of 52 shots, going 1-for-12 from 3-point range (8.3 percent). Jene Morris had 18 points, six assists and four steals to lead San Diego State.
