UNLV-Colorado State elimination game about to begin

The UNLV-Colorado State elimination football game is minutes from starting, and there is no apparent significant news regarding the Rebels.

The situation is pretty straight-forward — the loser is out of running for a bowl bid. And the winner? That team will need to win its final two games to qualify. So nothing's a given.

A crowd of about 15,000 is expected, and judging by the sea of red seats, the crowd count might not reach that total.

SAY WHAT?

Here's a statistic that should surprise Rebels fans. A UNLV victory tonight will make it 7-6 at Sam Boyd Stadium over the past two seasons.

To get that victory, the Rebels have to beat a Colorado State team they have never defeated at home. The Rams are 6-0-1 against UNLV in Las Vegas.

In fact, the Rams have won the past six meetings and 12 of 13.

MOVING UP THE CHART

UNLV's Ryan Wolfe is 155 yards from tying former San Diego State wide receiver J.R. Tolver for third all time in the Mountain West Conference. Tolver had 3,572 yards.
