UNLV football falls at San Diego State UNLV's hopes for its first bowl game in eight years ended when the Rebels suffered perhaps their worst loss in coach Mike Sanford's four seasons. They were beaten 42-21 by a San Diego State team that ranked last in the Mountain West Conference in several categories. UNLV ends the season 5-7 overall, 2-6 in the Mountain West. The Aztecs are 2-10, 1-7. San Diego State quarterback Ryan Lindley completed 35 of 50 passes for 387 yards and two touchdowns.
